The History
of Basketball
Basketball has been around for a long time dating back
to the Aztecs and Mayans. But James Naismith had invented the sport. It was
invented in The University of Kansas, around 1891. He had invented it when he
was coaching the YMCA. He would hope that the game would be adopted by the Olympics
and it eventually did. There were some circumstances in the beginning like for
example there were only 13 rules. At the start of basketball they used a soccer
ball as the basketball we use today. The shots that were taken back then were kind
of similar to todays. Basketball was a bit different back then but as the
decades pass by the game was improved and played by many people.
